Pompano Beach is a hard place to put a railing. Between the ocean and the Intracoastal, most properties here sit in constant salt exposure, and Broward County falls inside Florida’s High-Velocity Hurricane Zone — the strictest wind-load standard in the state. A railing that would last thirty years in Orlando can start staining here in two.
Safe Railing designs, fabricates and installs glass and aluminum railing systems throughout Pompano Beach, from oceanfront condo balconies along A1A to pool decks in Palm Aire and Garden Isles. We’re based in Boca Raton, about twenty minutes north, which means site visits happen quickly and service calls don’t turn into a scheduling problem.
Why Choose Us
Railings Built For Pompano Beach Conditions
Coastal Broward is unforgiving on railings. We spec every system for the exposure at the specific property — hardware grade for salt air, glass and anchors engineered to High-Velocity Hurricane Zone requirements, and mounting matched to the actual slab or deck we’re working with. Twenty minutes from Pompano Beach, so site visits and service calls don’t turn into a scheduling problem.

What Pompano Beach properties actually need
Salt exposure changes the hardware spec, not the material
Proximity to the Hillsboro Inlet and the Intracoastal puts most of Pompano Beach in a corrosive environment. Both glass and aluminum work here — the failures we’re called to fix are almost never the panels. They’re the fittings: builder-grade spigots and clamps that pit and weep rust within a couple of seasons. On coastal installations, marine-grade stainless hardware is the specification, not the upgrade. We cover the trade-offs in detail in our glass vs aluminum guide.
Broward County is in the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone
Exterior railings in Broward are subject to HVHZ wind-load standards, which are stricter than the rest of Florida outside Miami-Dade. Glass thickness, anchor type and post spacing all change with the exposure at a specific property — building height, how sheltered the balcony is, and the mounting surface. This isn’t something you specify from a catalogue. It’s specified for the property.
Condo balconies come with their own process
A large share of Pompano Beach railing work happens on condo balconies, and those projects run differently from a single-family home. Before anything is measured, one question decides the whole timeline: does the railing belong to the unit owner or the association? Beyond that, buildings typically set work hours, elevator reservations, contractor insurance requirements and finish standards that have to match the rest of the property.
Pompano Beach also runs a Building Safety Inspection Program that covers balconies and guardrails, and Florida’s milestone inspection requirements apply to qualifying condominium buildings. If an inspection report already exists for the building, it should be reviewed before the railing scope is priced — findings about the slab edge or anchors can change the project entirely.
Cracked or spalling balcony edges come first
We won’t install a new railing into concrete that isn’t sound. If the existing anchors are surrounded by cracking, rust staining or loose material, the concrete repair has to happen first. It’s a slower answer than most homeowners want, and it’s the only one that produces a railing that stays put.

Permits and code in Pompano Beach
Replacing an existing railing is not automatically permit-exempt, particularly when the mounting surface or structural attachment changes. Requirements differ between the City of Pompano Beach and unincorporated Broward, and condo and commercial properties may need building or association approval on top of the permit.
If the project is a pool barrier rather than a guardrail, different rules apply entirely — height, gap limits and gate operation are set by Florida’s Residential Swimming Pool Safety Act. See our guide to Florida pool fence code requirements before ordering anything.
We confirm the exact requirements with the local building department before fabrication.
